Rana Pratap, the House of Udaipur and fake 'house of Mewar'.
Maharana Pratap of Udaipur is said to have been born on this Gregorian Calendar date..... Much is said about his 'Haldighati' fight against Mighty Akbar, in which he had to take a recluse even in forests and eat 'Rotis' made of grass. But what is not stated is that he had rejected Akbar's offer of truce over 6 times. And within 22 days of Haldighati, Gogunda-Udaipur was cleaned from Mughals. All Mughal outposts were razed to ground. Mughals were butchered. Rest fled. Akbar banned Man Singh in his court for 6 months for this humiliating defeat. This was wrath of Maharana Pratap !
Many of the today think Arvind Singh 'Mevar', claiming to be 'Custodian of Mewar' is the legitimate successor of the House of Mewar? Well, according to law of primogeniture, that most (not all) Ruling families of the world follow, well:
1. There has never been a 'House of Mewar'. It was always "Udaipur". Maharana Pratap was also the Rana of Udaipur.
2, Arvind Singh, the second son of late Bhagwat Singh, was made the Controller of the MewarTrust that Bhagwat Singh created to look after inheritance. The Title of 'Shree ji' is a farce!
3.By the law of primogeniture and by legal inheritance, it is Mahendra Singh 'Mewar', who is(now) the namesake King of Udaipur, that includes the region of 'Mewar'.
4. Strange it may seem, people think that the actual Custodian (the rulers of Udaipur just considered themselves as custodians of the seat started by Lord Ram) of Mewar-a notional Kingdom that came into existence by virtue of the money power and control over properties that reached Arvind Singh, through his being appointed the 'Controller of Mewar Trust'. Anyone calling him the Custodian of the ruling line of Maharana Pratap of Udaipor/Mewar is wrong.!
he is just a junior prince, given the charge to handle the Mewar Trust, by his late father.
