Death Anniversary of Veer Saverkar

Two major myths that the Leftist journalists/historians more than often harp to diminish the greatness of Veer Savarkar, as usual through the devices like lie, half lie, half truth...etc., are:
1.'He coined the term Hindu Nationalism'. Pity you! It was Sir Syed Ahmed Khan, the founder of Alighar Muslim University who coined the terms 'Hindu Nationalism' as well as 'Muslim Nationalism'.
2.'He was a coward who begged clemency'. Yes he did, not once, but 5 times. His age then was just 28. He was to serve 2 life terms in 'Kala Pani'. Instead of wasting his ;potential in Andaman's jail, he begged clemency, even agreed to live non political life in the confinement of Ratnagiri Dist. of Maharashtra, for 5 years. But he came alive to the soil of India.
It is the death anniversary of Veer Savarkar (Vinayak Damodar Savarkar).

He was was an Indian pro-independence activist, lawyer, politician, poet, writer and playwright.

He was a revolutionary who had the courage to jump out of the port hole of a ship, to escape his captors. Who got the severest punishment in "Kala Pani' (Andaman's cellular Jain), for challenging British rule.

The same man invited death by forgoing food and water( as some Jain monks do), when he realised that he was left with no further mission in life, much due to dejection, rejection and hatred by the then, Nehru's Private Limited Company called Indian National Congress. In all of the books he has authored, he has stated history through the weaving thread of, perhaps, some fictional character. But books are historically correct.

Maulana Azad and Dr.Zakir Hussain.

It is a kind of numerical alliteration. India's first Education minister, Maulana Abdul Kalam 'Azad' was born on 11.11.1888 and he died on 22.2.1958, that translates to this date in year 1958.His grandfather had died in the mutiny of 1857, so his father ran away to the 'Makkah Vilayat'( the present city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia), at was under the Turkish Ottoman rule then, and Maulana was born there. In his hearts of heart, Maulana thought himself as Holier-than-thou-Muslim, by virtue of his birth in Mecca and his (assumed??) Arab lineage.
History may judge him, when it wants to, but it was upon his insistence that Dr. Zakir Hussain stayed back in India, even after having offered "his and his other fellow Muslim's.." services to Mr. M.A.Jinnah and to Pakistan. I had long ago posted copy of his 'offer' letter on this blog earlier

. And Dr.Z Hussain was installed as the first Muslim President of the Republic of India, that is Bharat, at a later stage, by Indira Gandhi. And so secular was Zakir Hussain that he insisted upon One Mr. Mishra, IAS(naming him would be improper), to convert to Islam and live in Presidents palace for one complete year, as a devout Muslim, to become eligible to wed his grand daughter, who had fallen in love with Mr. Mishra. And the spineless Mishra did so.... .
That was Our past President, forcibly imposed upon us by Late Maulana Abdul Kalam 'Azad'!

J.R.Oppenheimer and 'Geeta'

Dr.Julius Robert Oppenheimer, who is also regarded as “the father of the atomic bomb”.had died on 17th Feb. in 1967, in his early 60's..When the first explosion took place under "Operation Manhattan" on July 16, 1945, in the Trinity test in New Mexico; Oppenheimer l remarked that it brought to mind words from the Bhagavad Gita: "Now I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds."

The 'shok' 12 from chapter 11 of 'Shrimadbhagvad Gita, that occurred to his mind reads as
” Divi surya sahastrasya bhaved yugapad utthita
Yadi bhah sadrashi sa syat bhasastasya mahatmanah”
(दिवि सूर्यसहस्रस्य भवेद्युगपदुत्थिता |
यदि भा: सदृशी सा स्याद्भासस्तस्य महात्मन: ||)
Meaning. “If the radiance of a thousand suns were to burst at once in the sky, that would be the splendour of the mighty One”.

(divi—in the sky; sūrya—suns; sahasrasya—thousand; bhavet—were; yugapat—simultaneously; utthitā—rising; yadi—if; bhāḥ—splendor; sadṛiśhī—like; sā—that; syāt—would be; bhāsaḥ—splendor; tasya—of them; mahā-ātmanaḥ—the great personality)
iIn a television interview in 1965, the prescient Dr Oppenheimer said: “We knew the world would not be the same. A few people laughed (immediately after the nuclear explosion), a few people cried. Most people were silent. I remembered the line from the Hindu scripture, the Bhagavad Gita. Vishnu is trying to persuade the Prince (Arjuna) that he should do his duty, and to impress him takes on his multi-armed form, and says: “Now I am become Death, the Destroyer of Worlds”.

Rabindranath Tagore, when asked, " Gurudev, who after you?" He had replied "Harendranath "!

Besides the Radio day, it is also the birth anniversary of 'Nightingale of India', Late Sarojini Naidu, nee Chattopadhyay. Much can be read about her on the internet and otherwise, but much can not be read about her equally multi talented younger brother Late Harendra Nath Chattophadhyay. He was a lyricist. Among other of his poems he wrote the famous rap song sung by Late Ashok Kumar for the film 'Ashirwad'," Rail Gadi..He also wrote the lyrics of perhaps first English Song in a Hindi movie," ." my heart is beating,...", for the movie 'Julie'. He was a musician, a painter, a stage actor, a play write, a cinema actor, a politician -He was member of first Lok Sabha from Vijaywada- and a contributor of instantly formed English couplet on current matters, each day to a Bombay Evening Publication., and... and...and!
He was married to Kamladevi Chattopadhyay, the freedom fighter..... The Lady behind the creation of National School of Drama, Sangeet Natak Akademi, Central Cottage Industries Emporium, and the Crafts Council of India. Since She was a Leftist, all these organisations inherited the political backbone, that automatically leaned towards Left.
The Greatest compliment that Mr. Chattopadhyay could have received, came through none other than

Rabindranath Tagore. When some one asked him, " Gurudev, who after you?" He had replied "Harendranath "!
I'll write more on his personal life, on 2nd April. His birthday.
